INTO THE WILD

“My art functions to connect human culture to the natural world. My paintings allow me to imagine a connection between body and nature, self, and place. Often I deal with the conflicts between the wild and civilized worlds. My work is filled with irony, humor, pathos, and contradiction and as such represents the ambivalence humans have always felt for the natural world. We love it and want to possess it and define it and therefore by extension, limit it. This we all know in the end is folly.”
